Description
Ballindalloch has bottled up a particularly handsome bit of estate history with this Aberdeen-Angus 150th Anniversary Release. The Speyside distillery is part of Ballindalloch Estate, which is also home to the oldest pedigree herd of Aberdeen-Angus cattle in the world. That is not just a nice bit of pastoral trivia, either. The herd plays a key role in the estate’s circular approach to whisky making, eating draff from the distillery and helping fertilise the fields during crop rotation.
This special release celebrates the 150th edition of the Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society Herd Book, bringing together two things Ballindalloch does rather well: single malt Scotch whisky and seriously important cows. It is made from a 50:50 marriage of first-fill sherry and first-fill bourbon matured whisky, bottled at 50% ABV, with no added colour and no chill filtration.
