Ballantine's Finest Bottling Note

Ballantines Finest whisky was Jim Murray's No Age Statement Blend of the Year with a whopping 96 points! The critic seems to have a real penchant for the brand, awarding the 17 year old expression a similar score. Ballantines Finest is a great all-rounder - easy-going and very flavoursome. A classic blend.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Expressive, crisp barley sugars. Touch of wood smoke, toffee.

Palate Rich and sweet. Barley and caramel, very gentle peat.

Finish Soft and sweet, fudge.

Reviews for Ballantine's Finest
Better than the average blend... as a dram
Surprisingly crisp and flavoursome for the price. To my tastes, better drunk neat, on the rocks or with a drop of decent spring water. As a mixer, I think Johnnie Walker Red Label might have the edge, as the more subtle taste of Ballantines can be drowned out by whatever you're mixing it with.

Ballantines Finest.
I have enjoyed this whisky for some years. Very smooth dram. Excellent value. Just opened a bottle tonight (27/8/23) and there is a deeper flavour and a hint of smoke. Still silky smooth, but with more character. I like the old style, the new style is better. Lovely job.

A very good blend
A very nice drop, reminiscent of a decent bourbon. Sweet with hints of peat and honey. Not one to be ignored.

An excellent blended. Treat it as a single malt- few drops of water, leave aside few minutes and enjoy. You won’t regret. As no age limit, I give 4,5

Excellent for the price
You can get this for £15 on offer and it's absolutely banging at that price, a great blend. Always on my whisky shelf.

Better than glenfiddich 12 and other more expensive blends.
It's lovely, bottled in 2021, after drinking a lot of whisky lately like glenfiddich 12 and clynelish 14, ardbeg 10, a blend from the 70s white horse and modern blends like old parr 12 and chivas 12 , this stuff has nothing to envy those whiskies, really, i think i'll stop buying them and stick to this one. it is really good value for money! and here single malts are expensive, as well as 12 yo blends.
