This is the first Texan whisky, as well as being the first whisky to be distilled from blue corn! When we first tried this we thought it was wonderful, though very "different". These days it's become a firm favourite, along with the rest of the craft distillery's fantastic releases.
Nose: Soft vanilla and notes of candied peel. Caramelised bananas, toasted oak and a little creamy cereal sweetness.
Palate: Rich, thick, palate entry. A touch of dark caramel and baked apple. Baking spices, salted butter.
Finish: Spiced, medium finish. Quite sweet.

I don’t know why these people are saying it tastes like tequila. It tastes nothing like tequila. It’s a little sweet. It’s really nice for hot weather. Refreshing.

Really nice. Moving between different Scotch whiskies and decided to try something from my home state that isn't Scotch. Glad I did. Carmel corn in a glass.

Don’t understand all the negative reviews. I’m glad I enjoyed it immensely before looking to see how it rated. Very nice and smooth. Lots of vanilla.

I loved the aroma and the taste matched the smell. It is different. It is suppose to be different. It doesn't have a strong alcohol smell. It doesn't have a peat or charcoal taste. If you are a bourbon drinker that wants your bourbon to taste the same no matter what bottle it comes out of, then this is not for you. It is a blue corn mash whisky. It needs to sit and breath a little while. Take in the aroma and then enjoy it neat. Don't add water! Don't add it to a mixed drink! Just enjoy it!

Tried this for the first time tonight, out of the bottle. This is really good! A little spice but a little sweet also, and not harsh either. Those that are comparing this to tequila are dead wrong, and I've drank whiskey forever.

This is a great whisky. I don't get why people are comparing to tequila, it tastes nothing like it. It smooth, beautiful aroma and taste. I think people may have a problem with Texas, and are blaming this whisky. I will buy it again, and again, etc.

Interesting negative comments. I’m a peat-smoke scotch guy but allow a bit more latitude in my American whiskey sampling. This is a corn whiskey. As such, it fits in a very unique bandwidth of flavors. For those of us who enjoy corn whiskey’s, this is quite good. In this catagory one doesn’t go diving for the most obscure phenols but rather enjoy the simple sweetness of candies and a well rounded flavor. I find it a wonderful balance to Scotch smoke and Bourbon wood.

Smells better than it tastes. Hint of tequila, sour cider after taste. Astringent.

I enjoy a variety of whiskeys, bourbons, and ryes and really wanted to like this as Texas is getting some really good distillers, but I was not impressed by the the Baby Blue. Tried it both neat, with ice, and in a cocktail. While it was better as it breathed I did not enjoy it, and it tasted artificial/manufactured with the hint of tequila others have mentioned. Quality control might be an issue as I am not sure how this won awards.
