Balblair 9 Year Old 2008 (cask 70.25) - (The Scotch Malt Whisky Society) 70cl

Distilled at Balblair on 23 October 2008, this nine-year-old Highland single malt matured in a refill bourbon barrel before being selected by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. Cask 70.25, rather wonderfully named Gueuze Beer Breakfast, produced 240 bottles at 60.6% ABV. The refill bourbon barrel leaves plenty of room for Balblair’s citrus, orchard fruit, malt, and gently waxy character.
