The Forgotten Gems collection is all about ensuring every last drop of deliciousness reaches the glasses of discerning drinkers, and this is another cracking find from the indie bottler. Seven-year-old Balblair single malt, and only 23 bottles.
Mellow and fresh with yeasty dough, vanilla, and buttery shortbread, with a touch of peppery oak and green pepper beneath.
Silky layers of buttery oak, apricot, and vanilla fudge, with a touch of savoury grist in tow. There are notes of choc chip cookie dough, and a dusting of nutmeg warmth.
Softly spicy, with creamy barley, dulce de leche, cinder toffee, and lingering peppery toasted oak.
