As the world began its ten-year saunter towards the new Millennium, Balblair distilled this expression of their excellent single malt in 1990 and set it aside to mature in ex-bourbon casks. 21 years later, they moved the whisky over to Oloroso sherry butts for the last two years of maturation before they bottled the single malt for this delicious release.
Lush toffee, milk chocolate and a good helping of vanilla. A sprinkle of spice round out the nose.
Citrus fruits come through first, followed by honey-covered raisins. The spice from the nose makes an appearance.
Lengthy and full-flavoured.
Good amounts of sweet fruits and soft spices, a brilliant full-bodied expression.

Sounds fantastic, but with 3 youg children and a low pay rate...it's out of reach.....some day perhaps...but sounds GREAT
103 quid for a whisky distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2017 , 27 years old! Well worth it .
Sooooo smooth and great mouth feel, everyrhing you want in a sherry finished dram. 25 yo dram at this price is a NO brainer.
Characteristic sweetness of Balblair married to strong cask flavors that tastes like the liquid floating on top of crème caramel. No hint of the heathery peat that makes the 1999 so interesting, this is all sweetness and cask. A beautiful after-dinner drink.
All about rich balance. The bourbon is still very eveident, just more lush with fruit and spice. Absolutely sublime.
