From Gordon & MacPhail's Discovery series comes a vanilla-forward single malt distilled by Balblair which has been matured for 12 years. This bottling range allows whisky drinkers to know what they're in for by colour-coding the label to reflect the flavour profile within three broad groups - 'Bourbon', 'Smoky' and 'Sherry'. This one falls under the 'Bourbon' category.
Grassy barley, vanilla pod, butterscotch and mint.

My wife bought me this for Valentine's Day. Sweet honey, fudge, citrus and Oh so smooth. Nothing added to this pale whisky and it certainly has great character and depth. I like a whisky with a little liquorice kick so I'm very happy with this one. The difficulty for me is that my wife loves it as well so I'm afraid I'm going to have to share this with her.
