Behold, Bakery Hill's single malt, independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company! This 5 year old whisky is the first from the Australian distillery to be bottled by the Boutique-y bunch, and it's an intriguingly peaty drop. The label features the distillery's founder David Baker, and his son Andrew, dressed like a couple of characters from a rather popular TV show - a reference to David's history as a chemistry teacher. Yeah, science!
Batch 1 is a release of 429 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Nose: Soft, sweet smoke leads the way, paired with a hint of unripe banana and honeyed porridge.
Palate: Creamy malt and honeycomb, with the peat smoke taking on a subtly coastal hint along the way.
Finish: Subtly peppery on the finish, though vanilla notes keep it well-balanced.
