A tasty single cask Aultmore from Wemyss Malts, this was distilled in 1982 and aged for 30 years in an American hogshead before bottling. The result is a release of 272 bottles with a distinct palate of "Sugared Almonds"!
Nose: Just as the name suggests, sugared almonds to the fore. Very nutty and sweet, with hints of barley sugar, grist, marzipan and calves leather. Danish pastries too.
Palate: Sweet and very spicy with notes of cardamom and hints of cassia bark, this develops on clove oil, black pepper and marzipan. Malty.
Finish: Long, salty finish - all becomes quite coastal. More of those pastries, which have become Cinnamon Whirls...
