8 year old single malt from the excellent Aultmore distillery, bottled as part of Duncan Taylor's Octave range. It was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2017 after enduring 3 months in a tiny octave cask, resulting in just 82 bottles.

A couple more years in the cask would have been good. It's a tad sharp and youthful, but besides that, it has a lot of delicious notes and is a treat when you crave a sweeter whiskey. A drop of water and 15 minutes in the glass, calms down the heat and presents the goods.
