Impressively well-aged single malt from the Aultmore distillery, which has been bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company! This expression from the distillery in Keith up in the Speyside region was matured for 38 years before the Boutique-y bunch got their mitts on it, allowing plenty for time for it flavour profile to develop. The label doesn't reference anything from the distillery's history, by the way. No sharks or velociraptors of note visiting Aultmore to duke it out (that we know of). It's just a cool label.
Batch 17 is a release of 153 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose A fine balance of orchard fruit sweetness and forest floor earthiness, decorated with whiffs of fresh clementine and barley sugar sweeties.
Palate Orange moves to the fore, bringing with it some warming five-spice and clove. Still packs a wonderful fragrant earthy quality.
Finish A dusty hint of oak lingers long on the finish, dotted with stem ginger.
