    Aultmore 12 Year Old

12 year old Aultmore single malt Scotch whisky, unveiled in 2014 for the Last Great Malts by Dewar's. A refreshing dram, with plenty of vanilla, honey and citrus, alongside a touch of grassiness. It's been quite a while since a distillery bottling of Aultmore has been released, so this is all rather exciting indeed.

    A winner

Bought two of these now, certainly one of my favourite whiskeys. Fairly sweet caramel aftertaste with a nice punch to it. Would definitely recommend for novices and whiskey lovers alike.

    Excellent

Very smooth and excellent taste. I liked this from seeing it first on the top shelf of my local bar...to having my first taste. I dont remember going home!

    Good stuff

Really hard to find this one but I did and it was worth it. Basically tastes like glenlivet 12 but at a higher proof non chill filtered and no color added. Just agood ole green apples and honey Speyside. Delicious. The Sugarbear

    Excellent 12 year old

This is excellent 12 years old single malt. Recommended. I find it quite similar to another Dewar´s distillery product, Graicellachie 13 year. Both are really nice whiskies and worth buying. Will definetely buy another bottle of this.

    Very nice!

This reminds me of the standard Glenmorangie 10, but with more . . . oomph. The Aultmore 12 is a nice, light summer dram with just enough complexity to make it worth your while. It has a pleasant lemony, vanilla nose that arrives on the palate with a solid malty foundation. Again, this is not terribly complex, but what it does it does very well indeed. The 46% abv, no chill filtration/castration (great metaphor there, steve g.!) and no evidence of caramel coloring are key characteristics that lift it up. Other distilleries aiming for this sort of lighter flavor profile should take note - this is how it's done. Paul M.
