12 year old Aultmore single malt Scotch whisky, unveiled in 2014 for the Last Great Malts by Dewar's. A refreshing dram, with plenty of vanilla, honey and citrus, alongside a touch of grassiness. It's been quite a while since a distillery bottling of Aultmore has been released, so this is all rather exciting indeed.

I'm getting a bit of butterscotch / caramel and bitter oak on the nose; overripe oranges, cedar, and eucalyptus on the taste, rubber and pepper on an enduring finish. Fascinating and delicious.
I really like this one. Purchased $50US based upon 46%, non chill filtered, no color added, and because I'd never seen it before. While a 'light' whisky in color, this is a heavy hitting Speyside. Fruity, malty, great nose, looong legs, and a wonderful lingering finish. If you are looking for peat or smoke go elsewhere. A teaspoon of water stretches this one into an even better value imo. Never heard of it?....ya...I hadn't either...and I'd consider buying a case. I only hope that my review falls upon deaf ears to keep the price from increasing. I actually fear not being able to find more bottles of this one.
Too smooth for its own good, one of those where you open the bottle full of good intentions and wake up to find the contents appear to have evaporated. Seriously, a fine example of Speyside malt, beautifully smooth like liquid butterscotch.
I normally prefer peaked whiskeys but loved this one for it’s brine and fiery finish.
Such a smooth dram. Instant green apple/pear on the nose, following into honey, malt and a slight cask influence. Getting a feint caramel on the nose after a few small drops of water. Citrus in the mouth with caramel following and a hint of malt. Very smooth. Long silky finish, goes on and on. Caramel fades and Apple reins. Fantastic speyside single malt. As mentioned above a perfect summer dram. James powell
