A rather well-aged single malt from the Auchroisk Distillery, independently bottled by A.D. Rattray. This one was matured in a single bourbon cask for 26 years, from February 1993 to September 2019, and then bottled up as part of the Cask Collection with an outturn of 243 bottles. You don't see a lot of Auchroisk at this age, so ought to be intriguing indeed.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Brown butter, barley sugar, damp oak and a kick of crushed cumin seed.
Palate
Allspice, pear skin, nutty bread and sweet almonds, with just a hint of zesty orange in the background.
Finish
Black tea and ginger.
