Another outstanding Old Malt Cask bottling from Hunter Laing – this time, it's an Auchroisk! This single malt Scotch whisky was distilled back in June 2000 and allowed to mature for 20 years in a single refill hogshead, until it was bottled up in June 2021. 294 bottles were produced, presented at 50% ABV.
Anise, fresh pear with a smidge of pear skin earthiness too, sponge cake.
Juicy lemon and barley notes build , backed up by a touch of liquorice spiciness.
Oak and sugary pastry.
