Auchroisk 20 Year Old 1994 - Single Cask (Master of Malt)
We love Auchroisk whiskies. They're always fascinating drams to behold. With that in mind, we're very excited to present another addition to our Single Cask Series - a 20 year old Auchroisk single malt, drawn from a single refill hogshead that housed the whisky from April 1994 to May 2014! Oodles of baked good-deliciousness on show with this one.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Loads of Christmas cake dark fruits, walnut, cinnamon custard, black peppercorn, almond, dark cherry and dried orange peel. Later on there’s more vanilla and tropical fruit notes coming through.
Palate
Almond and marzipan, red cherry, and icing sugar. Then darker fruit comes through: blackcurrant, fig and plum. There’s also a prickly sweet spice. With water it becomes really velvety.
Finish
Long, warm and almondy.
Overall
A Bakewell Tart in a glass.
