Bourbon
Distilled in April 2009, this single malt from Auchroisk spent a dozen years maturing in an ex-bourbon cask until bottling in July 2021. Independently released by GreatDrams for its Single Cask Series, only 200 bottles were produced, without chill-filtration or any added colour, and bottled up at 48.2% ABV.
Syrupy biscuits, honeyed cereal, toasted nuts, and bold barley.
Currant buns with spices and candied citrus, a touch of vanilla cream, ginger and spicy oak.
Apple crumble, baking spices, and a touch of prickly pepper spice.
After sampling previous great drams releases had to try the new one. It didn’t disappoint. Was like drinking a toasted tea cake with fruit and vanilla running through it. Nice smooth finish
