The Arran Malt finished in Sauternes casks. These casks that previously held Bordeaux sweet wine give a honeyed sweetness to the isle of Arran’s only single malt distillery.
Initially acacia honey but then opening up to apricots, bananas and pears. With time a floral elegance presents itself.
Sweet but cut with warm spice. Lemon zest announces itself with the addition of water and a slight saltiness plays with this dram's sweet character.
Seville orange, Sauternes and an ounce of honey in a crisp finish.
Yet another successful cask-finish from this island distillery.

As I used to live across the road from the distillery, I’ve got around 6 different Arran’s, but this one is one of my favourites. Very fruity and easy to drink. Also try the Port Cask and Amarone. A great whisky
Sweet, fresh like all bottles from Arran . Also try the Madeira Cask finish and the Amarone Cask finish. Very special. 50% ABV, no color added and unchillfiltered. Every bottle is worth the 40 euro's.
It smells vanilla sweet & tantalizing. The taste is light and fruity. I like the smell better than it tastes; the finish feels young and slightly harsh - I would put a couple of drops of water in my glass. I definitely like Arran 14 better. Still good...
I always hesitate when buying a NAS but this one, like some other few exceptions, is a very decent one. I love the sweetness, marmalade, honey, fresh fruits. Thumbs up for Arran!
I enjoy tasting different whiskey I'm no connoisseur so not going to comment about lemon vanilla burnt whatever. Enjoyed this one didn't find it harsh good value too. Top toddy
