A friend and I bought a case between us theirs has all gone I have three bottles left trying to decide when to drink them, must be a special occasion the whisky is too good to waste on trivial matters.
A friend has just given me a bottle. I am honoured. It's delicious. Would I have bought it? Possibly not given the premium, which I suspect was more about the title than the quality.
On holiday in Arran in 1996 to celebrate my early retirement. I purchased a case of Founders Reserve which was delivered to me the following year. This was supposed to be an investment ! Over the years I have given some away and drunk some and now, I have one solitary bottle left. Wish I had either bought more or kept more for myself. Some time since I tried it. I remember it as being quite a mild, gentle whisky. Very pleasant.
I was given a bottle of IOA for my 50th birthday, and was told of it's uniqueness. So I told, and convinced myself to keep it for a very special day. It is in my wardrobe waiting for October 3rd 2014 when I retire. Not long to wait now.
