A limited edition single malt from Arran, which, after initially maturing in oak casks, was specially chosen by the master distiller to be finished in Côte-Rôtie red wine casks. It was bottled without chill filtration or colouring, with the vibrant liquid having gained its rosy hue from the casks themselves.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Oodles of oak spices, jammy dark berries and subtle floral violet aromas.
Bucketfuls of dark chocolate balanced by a dash of citrus, with lots of dried fruit alongside fresh fig and plum, with a hint of charred oak.
Delicate whispers of smoke support notes of candied fruit and a fairly spicy finish.

Very, very balanced for a NAS. Arran are doing a good job on these cask finishes. Not much complexity, but nice chewy boiled red fruits, some fading sultanas and faint apples. Did not get any smoke. Combine its very good flavour balance with a nice price (can be found for 40€) and I’m giving this high marks. I would recommend it. With more complexity/depth this very nice one could be a great one though.
