Arran
Scotland
Single Malt
An entirely bourbon-matured bottle of Arran single malt! After its distillation on the eponymous island, Barrel Reserve is matured exclusively in first-fill bourbon barrels, bottled at 43% ABV and presented in this rather handsome glass vessel (otherwise known as a bottle).
Fresh grass sweetness, lemon tart, biscuity malt and tart apple skin.
Malty, with Curiously Cinnamon cereal, vanilla fudge and green apple alongside a faint sea breeze.
Vanilla oak and lots of aromatic spice, with salted caramel and a handful of orchard fruit.
I tasted this for the first time at the Edinburgh Whisky Experience. I have never tried an Arran Whisky before and liked it so bought a bottle. It's a light whisky, quite soft, with a hint of citrus and a light smoky flavour. Great service and prompt delivery from Master of Malt.
Never tried Arran whisky before and was a bit worried it would be Smokey. But it’s just as advertised- citrus and sweet. I found it a bit fiery neat but adding just a splash of water really opened it up, and while losing some aroma the taste then matched what it smells like out of the bottle. Can’t believe the price on this one either - cheaper than my all-time favourite Edradour. Will defo be buying this one again.
I had a 5cl miniature bottle of this Arran in a home made box of 24 assorted miniatures for the Christmas run in. Was looking forward to trying it having previously had a full bottle of the Arran Cask Finish. This American Oak Barrel finish is truly excellent though. Really get the Citrus flavours and nose and smooth as the day is long, smells more like apple juice than Whisky, an absolute Snip at around £30. I'll definitely be getting a bottle. Highly recommended ?
Got a dram of this in a tasting selection , talk about refreshing and summery , I get green apples , a touch of pineapple ..very smooth and good sweetness , my first foray into Arran and I'm hugely impressed
A great find from my local whisky shop. Like other reviewers, I purchased this on a whim. Very surprised, there will be a bottle in my cabinet. Very crisp, a bit tart but a nice "neat" dram.
