Arran 21 Year Old - Explorers Series Volume 2 - Lochranza Castle
Here we have the second release in The Explorers Series from Arran. You can see Locharanza Castle on the label, surrounded by some impressive stags. Distilled on the eponymous isle of Arran, this 21 year old whisky was matured in sherry hogsheads before being finished in Amontillado sherry casks sourced from Bodegas Tradicion. The limited edition release saw an outturn of 9,000 bottles of the complex and nutty dram, bottled at 47.2% ABV. And look, it comes with a lovely presentation tin to keep things in. Probably the whisky.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Full of aromas of old bookcases, root ginger, almond and apple cake, sherried fruits and caramelised almonds.
Palate
Gentle toasted meringue sweetness with stewed apples, cocoa and a helping of allspice and vanilla.
Finish
Dried apricot, toasted almonds and dark chocolate shavings.
