Arran 19 Year Old 1996 - Single Cask (Master of Malt)
19-year-old single cask single malt from the Arran distillery, located on the eponymous Scottish island. This was distilled in September 1996 (the year after they started distilling) and aged in a bourbon hogshead until June 2016, when we bottled it up for our Single Cask Series!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Salted caramel, leading into pecans and hazelnuts. Cake batter, maple syrup and grilled pineapple rings.
Palate
Tropical fruit continues. A core of cooking spices, and maybe even a very slight whiff of smoke. Menthol and honey'd cereals.
Finish
Clove, cinnamon and salted pretzels. A good dollop of chocolate, too.
