Following on from the previous limited edition 18 year old, Arran 18 year old has now become part of the core range! It's bottled without chill-filtration or artificial colouring.
Producer's Tasting Note: Nose: Sweet orchard fruits with syrup and toasted oak. Vanilla and light cinnamon spice. Palate: Sweetness dances on the tongue with chocolate, ginger, caramelised brown sugar and vanilla. Water uncovers floral notes and aromatic orange fondant creams. Finish: Long, lingering and luxurious. The classic Arran citrus and orchard fruits mingle with milk brioche and dark chocolate. A memorable depth of character, Arran is fully mature at 18 years-old

Bought a bottle of this 2 years ago whilst on Arran and opened the other day. Slightly disappointed considering the good reviews. The Arran 14 is one of my favourites and I think better and considerably cheaper. Perhaps it will grow on me as did the Arran Bothy QC.

Similar to the last comment, I’ve tried many single malts and this is up there with the best of them. Smooth rich caramel toffee is what I get from it. I haven’t had a bad scotch from Arran yet. I will definitely buy this again

One of my favourite whiskies and I've been fortunate enough to try many! I think for the price this is as good as it gets!

Don't hesitate if you see it on the shelf! Otherwise it may to late, I'm thinking about buying all the bottles. Seriously, I'm not that impressed by the Arran 14. But this 18... is o.u.t.s.t.a.n.d.i.n.g!

Bang for the buck! Lovely dram

Really lovely, sweet and well rounded. The MoM chaps did a good job on the tasting notes, but not sure if I could pick it out in a blind tasting. Arran did a good job bottling this stuff at 46% as you need to be careful with adding water to my taste.

I first tried this at a tasting session in the distillery at Lochranza, not knowing what to expect. The 10 was nice, the 14 a step up. We tried a few different cask finishes and ended with this. My reaction? "Oohhh that's GOOD!" Needless to say after a few drams I was shepherded to the gift shop where I persuaded my better half to let me take one of these home! Now enjoyed of an evening with special whisky-appreciating guys from my church. Worth every penny! Gorgeously smooth, balanced and well rounded. Fairly strong but not overpowering notes of vanilla and baked fruits with a hint of spice at the outset - reminiscent of Danish pastries. Complex undertones as it builds up to the finish but not too much going on at once. One to savour!

Amazing spirit quality, amazing development in the glass, from the bourbon side of fruits and honey to the sherry cask side of cinnamon and chocolate! This is what an 18yo Whisky should be!!Had this on my 21st birthday, really awesome!

I absolutely loved the first 18 yo form Arran, which solely sherry aged. Was a little concerned this new bourbon/sherry combination aged 18 will not stack up. But I was wrong. This is a truly great whisky and fortunately a permanent member of the core Arran line up. I love just about all Arran's whiskies, and this 18 makes a great big brother to the family. Perfect ginger and vanilla integration carried on a coco citrys cloud. Sheer heaven.
