Ardnamurchan AD/ Tokaji Cask Release
A fascinating first for Ardnamurchan Distillery, pairing its unpeated spirit with sweet Hungarian Tokaji casks. Bourbon barrels filled in 2018 were re-racked into Tokaji casks in 2024, creating an eight-year-old single malt that's floral, funky, fruity, and saline all at once. It's bottled at 52% ABV, natural colour, and non-chill filtered from a release of 8,736 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Fresh pear, green apple, sandalwood, sour sweets, and baked banana, with cereal notes and floral funk.
Palate
Sugared almonds, nashi pear, salted popcorn, and candied ginger meet white pepper, rose petals, and citrus pith.
Finish
Saline, spicy, and beautifully balanced, with lingering orchard fruit and gentle oak.
