Another superb batch of single malt from Ardnamurchan, straying away from its regular use of bourbon and sherry casks, this expression has been matured in ex-bourbon casks, and finished in barriques from Champagne producer Paul Launois! Certainly not something you see every day – the folks at Ardnamurchan are a clever bunch when it comes to intriguing cask choices. A release of 2,661 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Tropical fruit salad with a drizzle of honey, a bold hit of roasted malt, and just a hint of dried chilli.
Palate
Zesty notes of orange and lemon peel, with more tropical hints of peach, mango, and crisp apple. Silky butterscotch counters prickles of peppery heat.
Finish
A tangle of delicate fruit and warming spice, with sweet, roasted malt prevailing on the finish.
