Ardnamurchan 10 Year Old
The Ardnamurchan distillery turned 10 years old in summer 2024, and to celebrate, it released this batch of 10-year-old single malt! The entire batch was initially matured in first-fill bourbon casks, then half was transferred to Champagne Paul Lanais barriques for a finishing period of over a year. Unpeated, bottled at a satisfying 50% ABV, it's a magnificent way to celebrate the distillery's milestone anniversary and offers a superb glimpse at what the future holds for its spirit as it reaches double figures.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Bright and tropical, with layers of candied pineapple and mango, banana bread, and runny honey. Toffee, dark brown sugar, vanilla fudge, and gummy sweets.
Palate
Waxy, oily malt leads the way, with rich honey, ginger loaf, and fragrant, woody spices. More tropical notes in the form of pineapple, and waves of oaken vanilla.
Finish
That oily texture lingers, with biscuity malt, caramel, and a touch of cedar.
