Exciting Scotch whisky news! The first single malt from one of Islay’s newest distilleries here. Ardnahoe was founded by Hunter Laing, whisky bottlers and blenders, in 2018. This is the first new whisky from Islay since Kilchoman released its first single malt in 2009. It was matured in a combination of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks, and bottled at 50% ABV with no chill-filtering or colour added.
Bonfires, smoked meat, bacon, toffee, and baked apple. A little water brings out lemon zest.
Peppery, orange citrus, smoky but overpoweringly balanced by a toffee sweetness. Dilution brings out a distinctive lemon note.
Clean and refreshing, with a sea breeze quality.

This is delicious. Big, rich, bossy Islay whisky that will have you buying a 2nd bottle before your first glass is empty.
