    The Ardmore Legacy

Released in 2014 to take the place of the Ardmore Traditional, the Legacy brings a lightly-peated, wood spice-led flavour profile to the table. At its core, the Ardmore Legacy is made with 80% peated and 20% unpeated malt.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

It leans more on the savoury than the sweet side of things, with light barbecue char and earthy notes up-front. Sweet cinnamon, fresh honey and vanilla toffee waft up at points.

    Palate

More charred, smoky notes, joined by drying oak, pear drops and subtle grassy touches. Give it a minute for citrus zest and expressive heather to appear.

    Finish

A lasting peat smoke finish, with a little bit of honey'd barley for good measure.

Solid drink with a light peat

If you can get it for £20 it's worth it all day long. In this range of peat I would highly recommend the bowmore 12 over this one.

    Fine for the money

Lots of overly critical reviews. It’s a cheap bottle, perfect for a dram on as weeknight when you don’t want to touch the good stuff. There are a lot worse bottles out there at this price point.

    Better out there for money

Can tell it's young. Bought as a gift which I'm glad about as would have been disappointed if I'd spent my own 30 quid

    Very nice

Very new to this whole whisky business but my recent found love of the stuff seems to be leading me down a peaty path. Bought this for bargain £20 to add to my growing collection for Burns night and thought it was lovely for the price I paid. Thoroughly recommended for those who like a good everyday lighter peated malt.
