Released in 2014 to take the place of the Ardmore Traditional, the Legacy brings a lightly-peated, wood spice-led flavour profile to the table. At its core, the Ardmore Legacy is made with 80% peated and 20% unpeated malt.

Great price and value. Ardmore Legacy reminds me of a very slightly watered Ledaig 10. That is to say its fantastic, and for the price you are paying it may be the best peated scotch under or around 40 bucks. It is definitely something to keep stocked when you need to go to the "cheaper" stuff. Grant it, a cheap date may go for stuff like J & B or god forbid Grant's but in the modest price range of 30 to 40 bucks I dont think it can be beat if youre a fan of peat yet dont want to be overwhelmed.
A lover of Laphroaig, I decided to try this via a Christmas offer. The Ardmore is far more subtle in its approach, with far more directions of taste than Laphroaig. Although I will not be abandoning Laphroaig just yet, Ardmore will be very prominent in my drinks cupboard for the foreseeable future. Laphroaig may well go eventually, assuming Ardmore doesn't get silly with the price.
Taste like choline chemical wash.
I gave been drinking Wiskies for over 46 years, this is very very good. A little peaty but nowhere near as harsh as Laphroaig which is extremely clinical in my opinion. This is an extremely smooth easy to drink tipple. It comes very close to a long since consumed bottle of 12 year Tormore from 30years ago which I'd happily pay good money for today. Whilst not a true single malt it rates as a highly commended desirable addition to my Whisky cellar.
Very nice smoke cinnamon but not pushy, love it.
