    The Ardmore Legacy

Released in 2014 to take the place of the Ardmore Traditional, the Legacy brings a lightly-peated, wood spice-led flavour profile to the table. At its core, the Ardmore Legacy is made with 80% peated and 20% unpeated malt.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

It leans more on the savoury than the sweet side of things, with light barbecue char and earthy notes up-front. Sweet cinnamon, fresh honey and vanilla toffee waft up at points.

    Palate

More charred, smoky notes, joined by drying oak, pear drops and subtle grassy touches. Give it a minute for citrus zest and expressive heather to appear.

    Finish

A lasting peat smoke finish, with a little bit of honey'd barley for good measure.

The worst whiskey I have ever tasted!

I’m afraid to the nose I get a strong scent of TCP? To the pallet it also taste of TCP! The finish leaves a lingering taste of... yes you got... TCP!

Five of course. Unless you have Sensory Deprivation.

Serendipity. An Orchestra. Music for the senses. Wonderful harmonies. Everything on-song. And a deserving raptuous applause. Bravo. Encore. Now I have made this discovery, I will strongly reccomend, that they too, dip their tastebuds into these magical waters. Hail Exlicir.

    I like this ...

Having read the reviews which are mixed I took the plunge at 18 pounds from my local supermarket it's worth a punt !! What's the worst that can happen ... use as drain cleaner ...light a barbecue? ...no I have not had too yes its probably very young in age ...but I'm loving the smoke.. thoroughly enjoing this ..and will buy again .. not every one wants to spend a fortune on a bottle ... getting it cheap was a bonus but would not have felt hard done too if I'd payed the full price. Give it a try . ..it may just be the right balance between cost and quality . .

Very light, a little smokey but still smooth and sweet.

Very gentle. Lots of comments about being too smokey and harsh, but I think if this is what you think. you bought the wrong whisky to start with. I like really smokey so this is a very gentle smokiness and as for harsh, I thought actually quite sweet and smooth. Compared to some whisky just a little more expensive, this has less complexity and length but I still found very enjoyable. Tasting notes tend to talk about ‘light’ or the softer or sweeter tastes such as vanilla, honey and grass and i guess that would lean towards subtlety and simplicity so not a lot of obvious layers here. For those being critical I suggest it does exactly what is says on the tin. If you don’t like any smoke, stay away.
