Ardmore 8 Year Old 2008 (cask 823) - The Cooper's Choice (The Vintage Malt Whisky Co.)
This single cask Highland single malt Scotch whisky from the Ardmore distillery was distilled in July 2008 and matured initially in an American oak cask before it was finished in a Port wine pipe. It was bottled in 2017 at 46% ABV by The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. for its series The Cooper's Choice, with an outturn of just 420 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Light oak spice as it opens, followed by red fruit jam, hazelnut and vanilla.
Palate
Summer fruit tart, refreshing tangerine, sweet plums with hints of cedar, cocoa and subtle earthy salinity.
Finish
Warming and quite intense with a slight tingle of spice.
