Ardmore 18 Year Old 2003 (cask 15228) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)

Glorious independently bottled single malt from Ardmore! This gently peated Highlander was distilled in March 2003 and filled into a single refill hogshead cask, where it remained for 18 years. In September 2021, the cask was opened by the folks at Douglas Laing to release a total of 310 bottles for its Old Particular series.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Charcoal embers and toasted oak mingle with robust barley and a hint of heather.

Palate

Figs and prunes bring some sweetness with a good helping of peat smoke followed by nutmeg and citrus zest.

Finish

Warming ginger and honey linger alongside smoked spice and peppery oak.
