Bourbon
Single cask single malt from Ardmore, aged for 16 years in a bourbon cask - from April 2001 to 2017. Following maturation, the whisky was bottled for The Cooper's Choice range by The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. with an outturn of 300 bottles.
A good helping of peat arrives first, before honey and caramel.
Nutty - almonds and roast chestnuts. Still packed with caramel, now a hint of vegetal vanilla too.
Just a little bit peppery on the finish.
