Ardmore 12 Year Old - Living Souls
A rugged Highlander from Ardmore, brought to us as part of the independent Living Souls collection. This single malt spent a dozen years maturing in bourbon barrels that previously held Islay whisky, amplifying notes of earthy peat smoke and engine oil alongside layers of meaty malt and warming spiced fruit.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Earthy smoke rises from the glass, mingling with marzipan, burnt sugar, sultanas, and the festive warmth of stollen bread. On the palate, notes of cola fire, old trains, and engine oil meet ash, crackling heat, and a touch of honey roast ham, all carried by a lingering burnt sugar sweetness.
