Ardmore 10 Year Old 2008 - Claxton's
After it was distilled in November 2008, this Ardmore single malt was placed into a single barrel which previously held peated Islay whisky. Sadly, that's all we know about it, and which exact whisky it held will have to remain a secret. It was left in the cask for a decade, until it was bottled by Claxton's. A limited 166 bottles were released of this 10 year old at 59.4% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Flamed citrus peel, smoky oak and vanilla pod with a hint of sea air.
Palate
Wood char and lots of maritime smoke, with oak spice, tropical fruit and a prickle of white pepper.
Finish
Salt, smoke and a drizzle of honey.
