Ardlair 14 Year Old 2009 Single Cask (Master of Malt)

Ardlair is the unpeated single malt from the underrated Ardmore distillery. This single malt was distilled in September 2009 and spent 14 years maturing in a single refill cask until it was bottled in August 2024 at 57% ABV. Just 336 bottles join our brilliant collection of single cask releases. We don't want to blow our own trumpet, but they really are very good.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

A rich wave of warm vanilla sponge and crème brûlée greets you, followed by hints of golden syrup and light floral undertones of jasmine. Ripe orchard fruits and soft caramelised nuts are underneath.

    Palate

Spiced poached pears and creamy malt lead the charge, evolving into layers of cinnamon-spiced shortbread and orange zest. Black pepper heat builds gradually, balanced by silky honey and a touch of oaky tannins.

    Finish

Vanilla fudge, a drizzle of caramel, and a touch of clove spice lingering alongside stewed apples.
