    Product details

    Ardbeg 10 Year Old

A phenomenal whisky packing powerful peaty deliciousness, Ardbeg 10 Year Old is a favourite of many whisky lovers around the world. Produced on the Kildalton Coast of Islay, this single malt matures for a decade before being bottled without any chill-filtration. If you're after a whisky full of coastal air, smoke and more, this is exactly what you want.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

A ridge of vanilla leads to mountain of peat capped with citrus fruits and circled by clouds of sea spray.

    Palate

Sweet vanilla counterbalanced with lemon and lime followed by that surging Ardbeg smoke that we all know and love.

    Finish

Long and glorious; sea salted caramel and beach bonfire smoke.

    Overall

Precise balance, big smoke and non-chill filtered. This is why this is such a famous dram.

    Definitely Different

Reviews for Ardbeg 10 Year Old

Buyer beware: If you're looking for something a bit different look elsewhere. This is A LOT different. I'm no expert, but I do feel bold enough to suggest that anyone who describes this whiskey as anything less than powerfully smoky has something missing from their palate. Very interesting, but not for the unadventurous.

Smoking is good for your health!

Another great Islay distiller. Ardbeg is known for their massive smokiness they put in their starter bottling, the 10 yo. And with good reason. On the nostrils, sweetish peat scents can be found, but the expected smoke stays out. Right up until the moment you taste this. Copious amounts of natural smoke overflow your mouth. It's hard to trace other tastes amongst the rich and very pleasant smokeflavours. On the finish, the smokiness continues undisturbed and lasts very long. This excellent scotch never offends or insults, dispite the fact that it's signature flavour is so massively present. It's a phenomenally balanced Islay cracker! (RB)

Don't be too quick to judge

I was really disappointed with my first dram. It struck me as too overpowering to enjoy. Can't explain why but after going back to explore, this bottle has become my clear favorite. Still enjoy my Laphroig and my Lagavulin but the Ardbeg gives me something the others do not.

Need to acquire a taste for this

Initial aroma and taste like a punch on the face, however after a few its not to bad.reminds me of TCP.

    A fine dram

Palate is too mild compared to Uigeadail and Laphroig 10 cs.
