Annandale Man O’Words Vintage 2017 - S.T.R. Cask (cask 310)
This Lowland single malt was aged in a single STR ex-red wine cask (STR stands for shaved, toasted, re-charred – a good fact to bring to parties) at the Annandale Distillery, which then bottled it up for its Man O'Words series, meaning it's unpeated (the Man O'Sword whiskies are the peaty ones). It was bottled at 60.4% ABV, and we think just a drop of water will really open this up.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Fruitcake and custard, nutty elements, and chewy vanilla toffee.
Palate
Oily walnut, fig, another helping of butterscotch, now with a hint of clove in tow.
Finish
Juicy dates balanced by sweet oak and drying spice.
