A wonderful single cask expression from the Annandale distillery, released as part of its peated Man O’Sword collection. Distilled in March 2017, the whisky was filled into a cask that had previously held French Burgundy and undergone the 'S.T.R' process – shaving, toasting, and recharring to ensure plenty of character. In June 2020, stunned by its fruity profile, the Annandale team decided this particular cask was ready to be cracked open and bottled up!
Pipe tobacco, peat smoke, smoked meats and a sweeter balance of marzipan and berry jam.
Coconut, cherries, berries, and pears give way to an intense hit of peat, smouldering embers and smoked herbs.
Vanilla and stone fruit, a prickle of pepper and continued earthy peat smoke.
