A smoky expression here from the Annandale Distillery in the Lowlands, released under the Man O’Sword name (whereas unpeated whiskies from Annandale are released under the Man O’Words name). This one was allowed to age in a single shaved, toasted, re-charred cask (or STR cask, if you're feeling fancy) that previously held red wine. Following its maturation, it was bottled as a single cask release, presented at a hefty 61.5% ABV.
Roasted almonds, cherry Bakewells, cut grass, aromatic peat smoke.
Slightly chocolatey, with hints of toasted coconut and vanilla underneath. Still smoky and fragrant.
A crackle of black peppercorn and lingering herbaceous malt.
