Annandale Distillery's 'Malt of the Month' for November 2023 celebrates the stylish sherry that is fino, a variety of light-coloured, dry fortified wine from Spain which is produced from the Palomino grape and matured under a layer of yeast called flor. This prevents oxidisation and creates nutty, salty flavours that can be transferred to the whisky during maturation. Cask #397 did just that in this Man O'Words expression, which was bottled at 60.4% ABV.
Cooked apples and pears, dried nuts, and sweet spice.
Finely balanced sweet fruits and wafer with notes reminiscent of the Annandale Distillery style.
Nutty hints of hazel and walnut lead into a spicy, tongue-coating mouthfeel.
