Annandale Man O’Words Rare Vintage 2014 - Bourbon Cask (cask 143)
Distilled in 2014, this was part of the first batch of unpeated Man O'Words single malt from the Annandale Distillery to be filled into 103 casks. This particular whisky was drawn from cask #143, and bottled up at a generous 61.3% ABV, full of apple and vanilla notes.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Palate
Clean and sweet initially with mixed fruit, apple sauce and traces of nectarine and melon. This gives way to creamy vanilla and a florist shop of fresh flowers and green leaves. All is held together with an underlying earthy, pine-like note.
Finish
Green apples, honey and cream with a dry resinous note.
Overall
A lovely fresh whisky with excellent balance between fruit and vanilla, and intriguing depth.
