Fusion is a particularly apt name for this fantastic single malt whisky from Amrut. Y'see, it's made with barley grown in India, where the Amrut Distillery can be found, as well as peated barley from Scotland! Makes sense, right? Not just a clever name, it's also a cracking whisky, offering up generous helpings of fresh fruit, honey, spice and a good whiff of smoke.
Rich, barley, fruity. Big on citrus, spices, creamy sweetness. A hint of peat.
Oaky, rich, gentle peat, coffee, dark chocolate. Fruity.
Long, spiced, marmalade, sweetness.
The rating I have given this bottle is more what I hope it will be rather than the actuality. My son will receive it in two days time.
What a surprise. This is an excellent smoky whisky. If I hadn’t’ seen the bottle, I would have said it was a top Islay. And now I know it is a top Indian whisky… who’d have thought:). In retrospect there is an individuality to it… and I like that.
Got it as a gift. Have been looking forward to it for a while. Loved the nose and on the pallet, finish is slightly strong and long compared to some of the others. Creates quite an impression after couple of pegs and gives a feel good factor
One of the best drink you can get, its so smooth and the mood it creates is amazing. Must buy!
