Allt-a-Bhainne
The first official whisky from Allt-á-Bhainne distillery, which has previously produced liquid to be used in Chivas Regal blends or the occasional independent bottling. The inspiration behind this single malt Scotch whisky was to blend peat and smoky notes with classic Speyside elements.
The bottle design attempts to honour the '70s style of the distillery with its distinctive geometric shape.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Smoky malt and a prickle of white pepper spice blend with toffee apples, buttery pastry, a hint of heather and toasted oak.
Butterscotch, roasted apricot and honey provide sweetness among gingerbread and cinnamon spice and earthy peat.
A long finish has plenty of drying smoke and fizzing spice.

The perfect balanced whisky, at least for me. Strong smoky flavours tempered by a caramel sweetness, not too peaty, but not too mild either with an after taste that lingers long enough. I wished I bought a lot more when on offer. This is probably my first 5 star review.
Not quite peaty enough for me , ( the peatier the better ) but it is a pleasant surprise and slips down nicely. Very mild but a smooth, sweet gentle taste.
Great balance of smokiness & sweetness, absolute gorgeous
Amazing
Corr that feels more like 46%er blimey i know these guys specialise in blending but oooushh. Bonkers nose, fiery first hit. Very interesting. Do the mouth wash swish in the mouth and instantly get yoghurt coated apricot. Then smoke maybe marzipan. Love it.
