An 18-year-old single malt from an undisclosed Islay distillery, distilled in 2007 and finished for five years and three months in an oloroso sherry puncheon. The long finish brings dried fruit, dark chocolate, and warming spice to the whisky’s earthy peat and smouldering smoke. Cask 807402 was bottled by Alistair Walker at a cask strength of 53.7% ABV, producing 322 bottles for the Infrequent Flyers collection.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Baked peach, cranberry, blood orange, cracked black pepper, sweet smoke, and earthy peat.
Palate
Smouldering embers, bog myrtle, dark chocolate, stewed sultanas, Amarena cherries, cinnamon, and rich oloroso.
Finish
Dried fruit, cocoa, pepper, and lingering ashy peat.
