Orkney 20 Year Old 1999 (cask A324-4) - Infrequent Flyers (Alistair Walker)
A mysterious indie single malt from an undisclosed distillery on Orkney! Or perhaps not so mysterious, as there are only two distilleries on the island. Anyway, this whisky was distilled at one of them in 1999, and left in a single hogshead for a couple of decades. In 2019, it was bottled at 20 years old for Alistair Walker's Infrequent Flyers series, with 303 bottles released at 52.1% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Sea breeze, barley sugar and a hint of passion fruit, with earthy vanilla pod.
Palate
Mango ice cream, with roasted and slightly charred nuts, oily malt and salted caramel.
Finish
Crisp apple and smoked grass linger.
