A mysterious indie single malt from an undisclosed distillery on Orkney! Or perhaps not so mysterious, as there are only two distilleries on the island. Anyway, this whisky was distilled at one of them in 1999, and left in a single hogshead for a couple of decades. In 2019, it was bottled at 20 years old for Alistair Walker's Infrequent Flyers series, with 303 bottles released at 52.1% ABV.
Nose: Sea breeze, barley sugar and a hint of passion fruit, with earthy vanilla pod.
Palate: Mango ice cream, with roasted and slightly charred nuts, oily malt and salted caramel.
Finish: Crisp apple and smoked grass linger.
