12 year old single malt Scotch whisky here from an undisclosed distillery on the island of Islay, independently bottled for Alistair Walker's brilliant Infrequent Flyers series! This peaty customer was distilled back in 2006 and set aside to mature in a single hogshead before it was bottled at 58.1% ABV with an outturn of 304 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Honey, caramel and sponge cake, then earthy peat and rock pools with a touch of malt.
Palate
Summer berries dusted with icing sugar, fireplace ash, more smoke and a hint of lemon curd.
Finish
Fresh hay, baking spice, heather honey and bonfire ash.
