
Carpathian creates Romanian single malt that is distilled, matured and bottled at the Alexandrion Saber 1789 Distillery, near the Carpathian Mountains. It is made using 100% Romanian malted barley and sub-Carpathian water under the stewardship of master distiller Allan Anderson, who boasts more than 30 years’ experience in Scotch whisky and Irish whiskey distillation. This expression, Carpathian Single Malt Cabernet Sauvignon Cask Finish, is part of the brand's Romanian Wine Cask Collection and the finishing casks were sourced from Alexandrion's own winery. It was initially matured for over three years in 200L white American oak bourbon casks then was transferred to 225L red wine Cabernet Sauvignon barrels where it finished for 11 months.
